I grew up with a very interesting mix of music around me, when I was young I can remember my mom and my grandma playing very iconic Mexican music and songs, while my dad has always been a very big rock and jazz fan (which is where I get most of my music taste from). What I listened to when I was younger certainly had an effect on my music taste now. I believe I am really open to new music and genres just because at home I would be surrounded by a lot of different things. I also enjoy finding music in different languages, and my dad also enjoys music in French, which clearly passed on to me, because now that I do know French I gravitate towards what my dad listened to when I was younger.
In a way music has been a gateway for many of the things that I am interested in nowadays such as art and fashion. I think that if it was not for some of the music I like, I would not have discovered some of my passions. I learnt about my favorite fashion designer because of her connection to rock music, and if it was not for that I would not have discovered her, or it would have taken longer. In a way I believe that all my interests interconnect, and that is what makes me…well… me.
